Family Senior Associate - Brabners LLP
Jo is a Senior Associate at Brabners LLP and heads up the Manchester family law team. She has been a family lawyer since 2008 and specialise in assisting clients experiencing separation and divorce.; advising and representing in relation to financial matters and issues relation to children.
She also have a growing practice in ‘before the event’ documentation such as pre-nuptial agreements and cohabitation agreements, and even lead a discussion group with the Business Sorority on how women can protect themselves and their businesses when it comes to marriage and buying a home with a partner.
Jo's talent and passion has been recognised, and she has been ranked by Chambers and Partners guide to the UK’s leading lawyers as a Star Associate in family law in the North West!
Her love of public speaking started when she won the BPW (Business and Professional Women UK) Young British Female Public Speaker award at the age of 16. She now lectures to other lawyers (having recently spoken at a national conference about the benefits of training in collaborative law) and regularly give talks on family law to anyone who is interested!
Jo feels strongly about championing the progression of people from all backgrounds in the legal sector, and works with organisations such as the Black Solicitors Network, and groups such as Business Sorority, and her own bi-annual 'Fabulous Ladies' event, that help women in the workplace.
And to top all that off, Jo has always been actively involved with homelessness charities. She is currently a member of the Manchester Homelessness Partnership Business Support Group.
